Dean M. Tullsen

I am a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of California, San Diego. I do research in the area of Computer Architecture -- for more information, see my research interests and publications page. I will be teaching CSE 141 and CSE 141L (undergrad computer architecture and lab) in Winter 2009, CSE 240B also in Winter 2009, and CSE 148 in Spring 2009.

I co-direct the High Performance Processor Architecture and Compilation lab with Steven Swanson and Michael Taylor.

I am co-editor-in-chief with Brad Calder of the ACM Transactions on Architecture and Code Optimization (ACM TACO) -- go here to submit a paper.  I am program chair of the upcoming 2008 IEEE International Symposium on Performance Analysis of Systems and Software (ISPASS 2008) -- abstract submission deadline is Sept 21. I will be co-chair (with Norm Jouppi and Rakesh Kumar) of the 3rd Workshop on Design, Architecture, and Simulation of Chip Multiprocessors (dasCMP).

I supervise the following top-notch graduate students at UCSD:

I have also advised these students, who have each graduated: I helped start the Faculty and Staff Christian Fellowship at UCSD.
